Hello everyone, This reentry of the SL-6 stage was observed by hundreds of amateur astronomers gathered at different sites. It was the Perseids meteor shower observation night and that's why so many people were outside and saw it. From my location, it was at about 15 degrees above the northeast horizon and reached mag -4 or -5 with a yellowish tint and a trail. All observation reports mentioned it produced sparkles but no fragmentation was seen. Its color turned to red at the end of the observation, so it matches Michael's obs. This change in color must have been produced by the fact it was slowing down and getting cooler. No sound was reported. AND NO, I DIDN'T SEE IT :-((((( I didn't check my predictions yesterday because I had a busy day and was not outside at this time. For once there was a reentry observed in Quebec and I missed it !
